JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Honours Primary Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area (e.g. psychology, organizational behaviour or similar).
- PhD (completed or at final stages of completion) in Work and Organisational Psychology, Organisational Behaviour, Health Psychology, or a related area.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This position is being created to contribute to the "Bright Side of Work" Research Project. This research examines the effectiveness of daily psychological interventions to enhance well-being and performance in the workplace using longitudinal and diary methodologies. The Post Doctoral Researcher will contribute to the research project, including methodology, statistical analysis, and dissemination, in whatever form (e.g. report, papers, chapters, book), and may be required to present information on research progress and outcomes e.g. to bodies supervising research; conferences, other team members, as agreed with the Principal Investigator/Project Leader. Further, the Post Doctoral Researcher will be required to assist with the development of research outputs from the project and engage in the further development of the project.
Funding is initially available for the post for a period of 12 months.
DESCRIPTION:
Essential
- Honours Primary Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area (e.g. psychology, organizational behaviour or similar).
- PhD (completed or at final stages of completion) in Work and Organisational Psychology, Organisational Behaviour, Health Psychology or a related area.
- Report or research publication writing experience; ability to write-up results from research activity.
- Evidence of working with quantitative data and advanced statistical analysis techniques.
- Must exhibit confidence, desire to succeed, be proactive, strongly motivated, and provide evidence of ability to self-start and self-manage projects.
Desirable
- Good publication record.
- Evidence of conducting research using quantitative diary and/or longitudinal designs.
- Experience of teaching or training others.
- Evidence of working with and analysing complex data sets.
- Experience of conducing advanced statistical analysis techniques, specifically multi-level analysis, structural equation modelling and/or longitudinal analysis.
- Experience of using statistical analysis software such as MPlus, HLM, R or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
