  • 1.  Index of Organizational Reactions - Assistance in finding an article

    I apologize in advance for cross posting.
     
    I am currently a doctoral student working on my dissertation entitled: "Employee Engagement: Antecedents and Consequences."  I am using the Index of Organizational Reactions as my survey instrument.
     
    I am trying to locate the following article:
     
    Smith, Frank J. (1976). The Index of Organizational Reactions.  JSAS Catalog of Selected Documents in Psychology, 6(54, No. 1265).  The article is 12-15 pages.
     
    All of my efforts through many university libraries (including one where the author was affiliated up until 2003), and the American Psychological Association (which used to have the JSAS) yield only the abstract, not the actual article.  The article reference in ERIC led me to the Naval School of Health Science at Bethesda National Medical Center (Maryland), but they do no longer have the library referenced, so that also was a dead end.
     
    If anyone has a copy of the article, or can direct me to where I can retrieve it, I would be most appreciative.  I am willing to pay for your time to copy and send (or scan and e-mail to me).

    I don't have the article you requested, but if you're looking for the IOR, Frank Smith has a book published in 2003 (I think) called Organizational Surveys where he talks about the IOR a lot and points tostudies that use it.

    Dear Melanie,
     
    I'm not familiar with this article, but I did a search on "The Index of Organizational Reactions" (with the quotation marks) in Google Scholar. One hundred ten web sites came back. Several authors of other articles refer to the reference that you want. My suggestion is that you contact any one of them directly to see if they can either loan you their copy or tell you their source. It's a long shot, but it might work.
