    FOCUS OF THIS BOOK

E-Research Collaboration can be defined as the use of information communication technologies which enable the collaboration among individuals/group engaged in a research project.  These technologies can range from email to enterprise packages and online software services.

While we have seen the unprecedented growth of social networking tools such as MySpace, Facebook and Linkedin, these were primarily designed for social purposes. It is only in the last year that we have begun to see the emergence of research-based social networking tools. These tools, for example, MyNetResearch and 2Collab, can facilitate collaborative environments to orchestrate interaction within networks of researchers, partners, and customers to boost creativity and innovation. E-Research collaboration technologies can supply seamless connectivity to allow work anywhere and anytime.

Topics: We invite researchers and practitioners to contribute chapters to this unique and very timely reference source. Chapters will be no more 5,000 words, contain no more than 25 references, 3-4 tables, 3-4 figures. Chapters will be double-blind peer reviewed to ensure rigor and relevance.

This call for chapters seeks foundation-building research on e-research collaboration issues in the Arts and Humanity, Social and Behavioral sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, Medicine and Business disciplines.

    CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS

Proposal Submission Deadline: December 10, 2011
Extreme Leadership: Leaders, Teams and Situations Outside the Norm
    A book edited by
Dr. Cristina M. Giannantonio and Dr. Amy E. Hurley-Hanson
    Chapman University
    Orange, CA USA

    INTRODUCTION
While much is known about leaders and teams in traditional business settings, much less is known about the behaviors and processes of leaders and teams facing extreme situations. An extreme situation is defined as one that falls outside the norm; that is, the situation falls outside the scope of daily experience (Giannantonio & Hurley-Hanson, 2011). There are numerous historic and contemporary examples of leaders and teams that have survived extreme situations in both business and nonbusiness settings. Business examples include the exponential growth of Apple and Facebook in the midst of the current challenging economic environment. Historic examples include Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Endurance expedition, while more recent examples include the first responders to the events of 9/11 and the 2010 Chilean mine disaster and rescue effort. Companies are facing global and economic environments that fall well beyond the scope of their daily experience. One way to contribute to management practice is to better understand leaders and teams that exist, and thrive, in extreme situations.

    OBJECTIVE OF THE BOOK
This book offers an alternative lens through which to view successful leaders and teams by analyzing cases drawn from a diverse set of extreme situations. The book aims to develop a body of knowledge, research, and principles which can be extrapolated from these case studies. Authors may submit chapters which explore extreme leadership by focusing on extreme leaders, extreme teams, and/or extreme situations. Authors are encouraged to consider the construct of Extreme Leadership as research question. Why are some leaders successful and why do some fail? What are the factors that explain successful leadership and team behavior in extreme siutations> How do leaders and followers change as situations move beyond the norm into the extreme? What leadership lessons can be extrapolated from these examples to advance leadership research and management practice?

    SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Researchers are invited to submit a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the focus and content areas of the proposed chapter. The deadline for chapter proposals is December 10, 2011. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by January 31, 2012 about the status of their proposals and will be sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by May 1, 2012. All submitted chapters will be reviewed using a double-blind review process. Contributors will be required to serve as reviewers for this project. Please contact either editor for further information. Submissions can be forwarded electronically in Pages, Word or PDF document format to Dr. Cristina M. Giannantonio at giannant@chapman.edu.

    Call for Chapters

Global Perspectives of Corporate Social Action and Social and Financial Performance

    Editors:

Ronny Manos (School of Management, Cranfield University, UK and College of Management,

Academic Studies, Israel) and  Israel Drori (College of Management, Academic Studies, Israel)

    Publisher:

    Palgrave-Macmillan

    Scope:

Corporate Social Action has recently been gaining increasing scholarly attention and is becoming a focal topic of business research. In this book we aim to focus on the interactions and interrelationship between Corporate Social Action, Corporate Social Performance (CSP) and Corporate Financial Performance (CFP). Indeed, the linkage between Corporate Social Action, CSP and CFP presents as yet unresolved issues.  In particular, studies are inconclusive on the nature of the impact of a stakeholder-oriented Corporate Social Action on social and financial performance.

This edited volume welcomes studies that seek further insight on this issue. Although current studies on the linkage between Corporate Social Action and performance often take the narrowly-based perspective of the firm, we seek submissions with broad-based perspectives.  Specifically, we encourage submissions that consider a diverse range of stakeholders, policies, business models and cases.  In line with recent trends that see Corporate Social Action being adapted by companies the world over, we also encourage submissions that analyze international aspect and diverse local contexts and models.

    Topics covered:

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

    ·         The relation between Corporate Social Action, Corporate Social performance (CSP) and Corporate Financial Performance (CFP).

    ·         Analysis of stakeholder perspectives on the balance between CSP and CFP in different industrial contexts and societies.

    ·         Case studies.

    ·         The role of media in shaping corporate strategy relating to Corporate Social Action.

    ·         Revisiting conceptual models of Corporate Social Action and performance.

    ·         Issues of Corporate Social Action, legitimacy, identity and reputation.

    ·         Evaluation models of CSP.

    ·         The evolution of Corporate Social Action.

    ·         International aspects of Corporate Social Action and social and financial performance.

    ·         The relationship between Corporate Social Action, ethics and HR issues.

    ·         Corporate Social Action  and sustainability.

    Procedures:

    ·         Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit papers by 15th of September, 2014

    ·         Submissions will be reviewed on a double-blind basis and notifications will be sent to authors by 15th December, 2015.

    ·         Last draft is accepted by 15th February, 2015

    ·         Tentative date for publication of the edited book is September 2015.
