re:Recommendation for MBA level HR textbook
It's hard to find a single text that incorporates HR, OB, and solid international material. I continue to experiment with combinations for my graduate-level Global HR class and my graduate-level "Managing and Motivating in the Workplace" (combined HR/OB) class. My conclusion: you can't get away with one textbook. I generally require 2 books, and make an effort to find paper-back and less obscenely expensive texts. The exception is the NelsonQuick OB text, which is unbelievably expensive, but still my favorite - but even that needs to be supplemented with HR material from other sources.
Here are the texts I use for MSHR and MBA classes, depending on whether the emphasis is global or domestic with some global material (always in combinations of 2):
