I am looking for information on the use of positive management techniques (e.g., participative, democratic, affirming, inspirational) to increase employee motivation and commitment. I am especially interested in empirical work testing the effectiveness of such approaches, but would also like to read overviews of theory and practice covering the last 20 years in the field. I am just getting started on this so identification of scholars with a stream of work in this area would also be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Jack,

I would look into the Case Western Apprecitive Commons site. Appreciative
Inquiry is a social constructist based approach to positive management.
