Mike,
I would suggest looking at the GLOBE project (they have the material now in
2 books) which looked at leadership across 62 nations, including Arab
countries. Another book that I found useful for providing a good overview
of cross cultural research is the Handbook of cross cultural management
research, which was published this year (2008), edited by Smith, Peterson,
and Thomas.

I am directing an independent readings course for a MBA student. In her
job, she is to begin coordinating some work projects between a US
organization and its affiliate in Qatar. We are seeking suggestions for
the reading course that might be relevant to this work assignment.
Relevant papers would focus on cross cultural issues in human resources and
organizational behavior, particularly related to Qatar or other Arab
countries. Papers on strategy and entrepreneurship are much less relevant
to the focus of the reading course.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
