Management--Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Management within the <st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Business</st1:placename> at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Central</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Washington</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place> seeks applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor position in Management beginning with the 2009-2010 academic year. This position is located at CWU-Des Moines, just south of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Seattle</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">Washington</st1:state></st1:place>. The department has 16 full-time faculty members and offers an attractive teaching load with small classes and a relaxed teaching environment. The <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Business</st1:placename></st1:place> has a strong teaching orientation and requires a commitment to students through teaching and advising. The College is currently pursuing initial AACSB accreditation.
The successful candidate is expected to teach management-related courses. The teaching may include distance education course delivery. Members of the faculty are also required to advise students; provide service to the university, college, department, and community; and conduct research and publish in their fields. The demonstrated ability or potential to produce peer-reviewed published research is essential. Research is supported through reduced teaching loads and funding from a variety of sources.
Qualifications
Required:
· Ph.D. in Management from an AACSB accredited institution (strong candidates who are ABD and nearing completion of the dissertation will be considered)
· Demonstrated teaching excellence in upper division management courses (e.g., Summary of teaching evaluations)
· Evidence of scholarship/research in Management field
Preferred:
· Interest/experience in human resource management, organizational behavior, or strategic management.
· Published articles in peer-reviewed journals
Salary and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Depending on the needs of the Department, an opportunity to teach summer classes for additional compensation may be available. Fringe benefits include medical, dental, life, and disability insurance as well as retirement contributions. <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:state w:st="on">Washington</st1:state></st1:place> has no state income tax.
