The David Eccles School of Business of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Utah</st1:placename></st1:place> (www.business.utah.edu) seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in organizational behavior. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in organizational behavior or a related field, or show evidence that they will be awarded their doctorates by August 1, 2009. Filling this position is subject to University funding and approval.
This position will require high levels of scholarship, teaching, and collegiality. The successful candidate will show promise for teaching and research excellence. The <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Utah</st1:placename></st1:place> values candidates who have experience working in settings with students from diverse backgrounds, and who possess a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for historically underrepresented students.
The organizational behavior group includes Bryan Bonner, Arthur Brief, Kristina Diekmann, Gerardo Okhuysen, Kristin Smith-Crowe, Harris Sondak, and Markus Vodosek. The David Eccles School of Business offers degree programs at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels and teaching opportunities are available at all three levels. The School's faculty is well- recognized for its research and scholarship, ranking 28th in the world in research in the most recent Financial Times Executive MBA Rankings. Adjacent to the campus is <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Research</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Park</st1:placetype></st1:place>, home to more than 30 technology-oriented businesses with close research and operational ties to the University. The <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Utah</st1:placename> is located in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Salt Lake City</st1:place></st1:city>, which is known as a hotbed for technology-oriented business startups that provide great opportunities for student learning and research.
<st1:city w:st="on">Salt Lake City</st1:city> sits at the foot of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Wasatch</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Mountains</st1:placetype></st1:place>. It was the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics and offers excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation, including easy access to the Rocky Mountains, the red rock country of the Colorado Plateau, and eight national parks including Grand Canyon and <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Yellowstone</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">National Parks</st1:placetype></st1:place>. <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Salt Lake City</st1:place></st1:city> is the center of a metropolitan area with a population of approximately one million residents and has extensive arts and cultural activities and a major international airport.
