For those of you interested in the emergent field of business and the arts, I share the following news regarding the capacity, Aesthetic Intelligence. If you want any further information, please contact me.

Cultivating An Artistic Mindset: Aesthetic Intelligence will be published by Organization Development Journal, Fall 2008. This article will be the core reading for a Women's Leadership Program at CNN in September, as well as a 5 day course at Coles College of Business.

Aesthetic Intelligence blog is now available, separate from the general Leadership blog community on Fast Company online. The below link will take you there. Over the past few months I have posted 2 pages of blog starters, so you will need to scroll back to the beginning to read the original postings. The objective of the blog is as follows.

This is a place to explore the emergent field of Organizational Aesthetics and the capacity, Aesthetic Intelligence. To date, artistic metaphors and methods have been employed by business to dramatize culture, instigate imagination, enhance teamwork, and challenge traditional models of leadership. But there is more the world of business can learn from the world of the arts, beyond metaphor and method. Some of the topics to be explored are: Artistic Mindset which enables business to apply artistic sensibilities to daily and strategic behavior and process; Aesthetic Intelligence, a capacity defined by presence, authenticity and the ability to synthesize; Artful Conversation, interaction which chips away at entrenched ways of thinking, being and doing.

This blog will encourage dialogue to explore the possibilities of Organizational Aesthetics, and discuss ways of developing and embedding Aesthetic Intelligence for individuals and organizations, large and small.

I invite you to join the dialogue (and please forward along if you like). If you see a posting you would like to comment on, then all you need to do, is sign up.  This site is not theoretical or 'purist'. The audience is global and diverse and my intention  was to provoke curiosity and conversation. Enjoy!
