    ****APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING***

***POSTED ON BEHALF OF DENNIS GARVIS (GarvisD@wlu.edu) – PLEASE SEND ENQUIRIES TO PROFESSOR GARVIS***

    Tenure Track, Business Administration Department
Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics
    Washington and Lee University

Washington and Lee University (www.wlu.edu), a highly-selective private university located in the mountains of Southwest Virginia, is unique among top liberal arts colleges in having an AACSB-accredited business program. The Williams School of Commerce, Economics and Politics (williams.wlu.edu), accredited since 1927, was one of the first undergraduate programs to be accredited by the AACSB. Business Administration is one of the most popular majors at W&L, with small classes (usually 16 to 22 students) taught by professors who are enthusiastic about teaching undergraduate students.

The Business Administration Department of the Williams School seeks to add a tenure-track member with teaching and research credentials consistent with teaching undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship. Secondary teaching areas are open but identified needs include organizational behavior or strategic management. Successful candidates will have a doctorate as well as teaching and business experience. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience; candidates at the senior assistant level and above should possess a publication record commensurate with the rank sought. As evidence of increased emphasis in the entrepreneurship area, Washington and Lee will also be hiring the Johnson Chair in Entrepreneurship and Leadership during the upcoming year in addition to the tenure track position described in this announcement.

Interested candidates in the tenure track position should submit inquiries, questions, or application materials (cover letter and curriculum vitae) to: Dennis Garvis, Head, Business Administration Department, 213 Huntley Hall, Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Virginia 24450; fax: 540-458-8639; e-mail: garvisd@wlu.edu. E-mail submissions are acceptable. W&L is an Equal Opportunity Employer; women and minority candidates are encouraged to apply. In order to identify candidates to interview at the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in Anaheim, screening of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. (Please excuse cross-listings).
