Since I believe all leaders are also managers, and some managers become leaders, then I would borrow the term used by Peter Vaill and use something like Dept. of Managerial Leadership!
Thanks,

Gary,
Great to hear from you. We had an organizational leadership major and a human resources management major; we merged the two three years ago and changed the name to management and organizations. Frankly, it helped the lagging hr major and limited our brand in leadership. I personnally think having leadership in the title is better and demonstrates that management is about both internal management of talent and external management of strategic relationships.
See you soon in Anaheim?

Hi OB Colleagues - my apologies for any cross-postings.
Our dept would like to change our name from "Human Resource
Management" to "Leadership & Human Resource Management", but
we need to benchmark to the powers that be in our University.
If you have any data/ideas to support this change, could you
send to me by 7/1?
many thanks and best wishes
