Dear AOM meeting participant,

We are pleased to invite you to a PDW about evidence-based practices: Why the best knowledge does not translate to best practice?

For example, why only 55% of patients in the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region> healthcare organizations receive evidence-based recommended care?

Why managers prefer to rely on their own experience and implicit knowledge and tend to dismiss accumulated evidence-based knowledge?

In the PDW we will discuss initial directions for bridging research-practice gaps in areas as management, psychology, and healthcare.

These issues will serve as initial milestones for debate and discussions. The workshop will enhance close interaction among researchers and practitioners in a think tank. 

The workshop will take place on Sunday, August 10, 2008  0800-1000 AM, at the Hilton <st1:city w:st="on">Anaheim</st1:city>, <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">oceanside</st1:place></st1:city>.

No pre-registration is required.
