    Hello,

I am in the process of writing my dissertation on the topic of
organizational receptivity to employee input (voice). I have tried to
be as thorough as possible in my literature review, but I thought it
would be prudent to see if anyone was aware of lesser known or
unpublished work that addresses the topic of why some organizations
are more open to suggestions of employees, while others are less
willing to consider ideas that do not originate in the upper echelons.
It would be especially helpful to me if anyone is aware of articles in
journals other than AMJ, AMR, or ASQ, If you need any clarification,
please email me at jason.myrowitz@asu.edu and thank you for your help!

    Jason:

You might look up the work of Joel Brockner who discusses process openness.  Although not right on topic, you might get some good ideas that relate to other issues of openness throughout the organization.

    Dear Jason,

There was a Special Issue in the Journal of Management Studies on Organizational Silence in September 2003, I believe. I think that many of the papers in that special issue would be relevant to your topic.

Here is an article that might be helpful. It links openness to student acheivement (i.e., organizational effectiveness)
