Colleagues, this message serves to announce the attached call for papers for an upcoming special issue of Military Psychology titled Leadership for Military and other Dangerous Environments which seeks to advance the study of leadership in extreme contexts.  This call focuses on military and similar contexts where conditions of physical danger are present.  Note there is also a call for papers previously distributed on this listserve (also attached) for a special issue of The Leadership Quarterly, titled Leadership in Extreme Contexts (with a paper due date of 1 November 2008).  The LQ issue certainly could include, but also expands beyond military-relevant applications of leadership for extreme contexts.

The editors encourage scholars to submit their work to these issues to help advance the science of leadership "at the extremes".
