  • 1.  Undergrad HR Concentration

    Posted 02-07-2008 12:53
    Colleagues,

We are doing some benchmarking on what courses/requirements typically
satisfy an undergraduate focus (either concentration or major) in HR (or
    HR/OB). Specifically:

    1. What courses are required for an HR concentration or major?
    2. What electives are offered, and how many must they take, in addition
to required courses, for the concentration or major?
    3. Credit hours required in concentration or major area of study?
    4. Finally, to what extent, if any, do you allow undergrads in HR to
take Masters level HR elective courses or MBA courses to fulfill part of
    their major/concentration requirement?

    Appreciate your feedback,

    Brad

    Hi Brad,

We have successfully pushed a new HR concentration within our BBA through our curriculum committee with the 21 hours of required concentration course listed below.  We will start this in the fall of 2008.  The students also have to take 29 hours of core business courses as well as 9 hours of electives for the concentration.
