The School The School of Psychology at UQ is one of the largest and most prestigious schools of psychology in Australia, and its strong reputation is built on excellence in both research and teaching. The QS world subject rankings (2014) place UQ 14th internationally in Psychology. Psychology received the highest possible rating in the Federal Government's 2012 assessment of research performance (Excellence in Research for Australia), indicating that psychological research at UQ is consistently exceeds world standard.
Organisational psychology is an area of research excellence within the School. Staff in the program have a track record of publishing in the top journals in the field, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, and Psychological Science. The School offers a PhD and Masters program in organisational psychology, which takes 15 students a year, and is highly selective.

The role The School of Psychology is currently seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the field of Organisational Psychology. The appointee will undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research supervision, and research in relevant areas. The successful applicant will be expected to develop an independent program of externally funded research.
Research funding is available through internal and external schemes. The aim of the internal schemes are to provide seed funding for research, and to enable researchers to develop successful applications for external funding. The primary source for external funding of research in Organisational Psychology is the Australian Research Council (ARC), through the Discovery and Linkage Project schemes. Supporting early career researchers is a priority of the ARC.
Teaching loads within the school are competitive with those in the top state universities in the US, Canada and Europe. One of the School's major priorities is ensuring that all staff have sufficient time available to pursue a successful research career. New staff, in particular, have a reduced teaching load in their first year.
Remuneration
The appointment will be made on a full-time, continuing basis at Academic level B or C (depending on experience and qualifications).
The remuneration package of an Academic Level B appointment will be in the range of AU$86,853 - AU$103,138 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of AU$101,618 - AU$120,671 p.a.).
The remuneration package of an Academic Level C appointment will be in the range of AU$106,395 - AU$122,679 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of AU$124,482 - AU$143,535 p.a.).
Location
The School of Psychology is located on the St Lucia campus of the University. The campus is situated on a bend of Brisbane river, less than 5 kilometres from the Central Business District. With a population of around 2.2 million, Brisbane is a vibrant city. Its unique historical architecture, rainforest gardens, museums, art galleries, and cosmopolitan shopping, restaurants and nightlife all make Brisbane an exciting place to live. The subtropical climate and proximity to stunning beaches and World Heritage rainforests is a key attraction.
