    Hi Anne,

Net Impact may have some resources for you to look at, although not necessarily peer-reviewed journal articles. I think, if you are not already a member, you have to be to access much of the information, www.netimpact.org.

This PPT presentation introduces the organization: http://www.netimpact.org/associations/4342/files/ni_press_kit_web_20071221.pdf

I hope this helps, good luck!

    Sincerely,
    Lilunia

Some recent work has been done in this area (and other aspects of CSR in the UK) by Brammer and Millington. As well, the article cited below may be useful.

Collier, J. & Esteban, R. (2007) Corporate social responsibility and employee commitment. Business Ethics, 16(1), 10.

It is a very intriguing area, of course, as solid empirical evidence of a possible alignment of employee motivation and CSR may open new terrain for advancing a CSR agenda.

    Hi Anne,
For a critical perspective try Ackroyd, S and Thompson, P. (1999), Organizational Misbehaviour, London:Sage.

As you're interested in motivation, you might find organizational citizenship studies useful. Organ, D.W. (1988, 1990, 1997 )  has written a lot on organizational citizenship behaviours and with others , Paine ,J.B. and Organ, D.W. (2000),The cultural matrix of organizational citizenship behavior:some preliminary conceptual and empirical observations, Human Resource Management Review, 10(1):pp45-59.
More specifically on socia;l responsibility, Rupp, D.E., Ganapathi, J, Aguilera, R.V. and Williams, C.A. (2006), Employee reactions to corporate social responsibility: an organizational justice framework, Journal of Organizational Behaviour,27: pp537-543 may be useful too as might some materials on identity at work.

Lastly, at the risk of seeming to self-publicise, I have a recent (2007) paper in the Social responsibility Journal, titled "Emotionally Sustainable Business and Communities of Commitment "( Social responsibility journal, Vol 3,No. 4, 2007,pp61-73) which looks at emotions more broadly related to the topic.

Hope some of this is helpful.
    Regards,
    Tom
