Some recent work has been done in this area (and other aspects of CSR in the UK) by Brammer and Millington. As well, the article cited below may be useful.

It is a very intriguing area, of course, as solid empirical evidence of a possible alignment of employee motivation and CSR may open new terrain for advancing a CSR agenda.
