  • 1.  Articles on pay for performance and work climate needed

    Dear all,

    I am doing research on compensation and motivation. I have been looking
    for any studies looking at the effect of different compensation schemes
    in general, and pay for performance/financial incentives in particular,
    on the work climate. So far I have not found too much. Hence, I would
    appreciate any suggestions you might have. I will compile the
    suggestions and send you a summary.

    Hi,,

    For a nice work from across the pond, though a bit dated, see:
    Kessler, I. and J. Purcell. (1992). Performance related pay: theory and practice.Human Resource Management Journal, 2 (3): 16-33.

    Another special case is presented in a paper I co-authored:
    Baruch, Y. Wheeler, K. & Zhao, X. (2004). Performance-related pay in Chinese professional sports. International Journal of Human Resource Management, 15(1): 245-259.
