Hi Yuan,
you may take a look at the following paper:
Podsakoff, P. M., MacKenzie, S. B., Podsakoff, N. P., & Lee, J.-Y.
(2003). The mismeasure of man(agement) and its implications for
leadership research. The Leadership Quarterly, 14, 615-656.
It reviews a great number of scales on leadership and - more importantly
- discusses the difference between reflective and formative measurement
- which is of great concern especially in the measurement of leadership
(although it is always of concern ;)
Best,
Holger
