  • 1.  Course on Building High Performing Teams

    Dear Colleagues: I am designing a 3 hour undergrad course in building high performing teams. Do you have any suggestions for books/texts, exercises that might be useful?
     
    In regard to the previous discussion on evaluating teams, in my current short course on teams I have each team prepare a team charter (per Blanchard book on building teams). This gives the team ground rules to operate under and hopefully run smoothely!

    Bonnie,

    I would recommend two books that are excellent (imho).  One is The Wisdom of Teams: Creating the High-Performance Organization by Katzenbach and Smith; and this may sound at odds with what you want to do, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Lencioni.
