The <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename>, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">South Australia</st1:placename></st1:place>, has two openings in Human Resource Management at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. Applicants must have a PhD in Human Resource Management (HRM) or a related discipline, and have demonstrated their ability to publish and teach in HRM. Candidates with interest in the research and teaching of essential HR functions, such as recruitment and selection, performance management, reward systems, or career management are particularly welcomed. We hope the successful candidates will start in early 2008.
If you're unfamiliar with the Australian academic system, some additional information might be helpful. Lecturer positions are entry-level positions, equivalent to assistant professors in the U.S – suitable for new PhDs. Senior lecturer positions are roughly equivalent to an advanced assistant professor or early associate professor position in the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">U.S.</st1:place></st1:country-region> Within each level (lecturer and senior lecturer) there are multiple opportunities for promotion based on merit.
The <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename></st1:place> employs approximately 40 academic staff covering a wide range of management-related disciplines. The Human Resource Management cluster, housed within the School, encompasses a vibrant set of researchers addressing a variety of HR issues.
