VISITING FACULTY POSITION IN MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION
The Department of Business, Organizations, and Society (BOS) at Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for a one-year visiting faculty position in management and organizations, beginning Fall 2008. Candidates must be committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. BOS faculty prepare students as socially responsible leaders by analyzing businesses and organizations in their competitive, institutional environments. Class sizes are generally limited to 25 students, which ensures personal relationships with them.
Applicants should possess, or be close to completing, a doctorate in management, strategy, organization behavior, or a related area in the social sciences. We also welcome applicants in related social science disciplines (psychology, sociology, economics). Faculty rank will be at the assistant professor or instructor level, depending on qualifications. Curricular needs include: strategic management, organization behavior, research methods, capstone topics courses, and marketing.
Franklin & Marshall College is a small (enrollment 2,000 undergraduates) highly selective coeducational liberal arts college with a fully integrated business program. US News & World Report recently ranked the College 41st in the liberal arts college category. The BOS Department (www.fandm.edu/business.xml) expects both teaching and research competencies and offers a collegial and supportive environment. BOS includes courses in organizational behavior, strategic management, human resource management, business ethics, marketing, finance, and accounting.
We will begin reviewing applications on October 1, 2007. Only complete applications will be considered. Prospective candidates are welcome to meet our faculty at the Academy of Management meeting in Philadelphia in August 2007. Email the department chair below to schedule an appointment at Academy.
Please send formal letter of application and a current curriculum vitae to the address below, and arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent separately to the department from individuals who can attest to your teaching potential. Please also submit a copy of official graduate school transcripts. All application materials should be sent to:
