  • 1.  Resistance to change questionnaire

    Posted 03-13-2009 13:55
    Dear colleagues:

I am looking for a questionnaire regarding one's general beliefs and
attitudes towards change or resistance to change. Any suggestions on where I
can find one would be very helpful.

    Thank you,

    Afroditi Dalakoura

    Hi Afroditi,

I have seen many measures out there, but i believe you can find a measure from these persons:

Herscovitch, L. and Meyer, J.P. (2002). 'Commitment to organisational change: extension of a three-component model'. Journal of Applied Psychology, 87: 474–487.

Oreg, S. (2006). Personality, context and resistance to organizational change. European Journal of Work and Organizational
    Psychology, 15, 73–101.

Moreover, Tsaousis,Vakola and Nikolaou (2003) have created a Greek questionnaire of attitudes towards change, but it is unpublished. Hence, you might want to contact them.
You might also want to be mindful that resistance to change is only one meansure, which my by many is considered separate than attitudes towards change.

    All the best,

    Vias

    Hi Afroditi,

    Another useful measure might be

Holt, D.T., Armenakis, A., Feild, H.S., & Harris, S.G. (2007). Readiness for organizational change: The systematic development of a scale. Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, 43, 232-255.

Or in case you want to have an overview of all possible instruments that measure attitudes toward change I recommend you to check:

Holt, D.T., Armenakis, A., Harris, S.G., Feild, S.G. (2007). Toward a comprehensive definition of readiness for change: A review of research and instrumentation. In W.A. Pasmore, & R.M Woodman (Eds.), Research in organizational change and development (pp. 295-346). Oxford, UK: Elsevier.

    Cheers,

    Dave
