Dear Charles,
The first sentence of Level Three Leadership, 3rd Edition, is
"Leadership is about managing energy, first in yourself and then in
those around you." The text builds on that theme throughout. I've used
it successfully in Thailand, China, Japan, Australia, Africa, Europe,
Brazil, Costa Rico, the US and Canada. The text includes the related
issues of strategy, ethics, leadership, leading change, and
motivation--why people behave the way they do and how to manage that.
It includes a chapter on managing Flow or resonance, essentially
managing one's own energy before trying to manage the energy or flow of
others. The concept of flow, in Chinese CHI, in Japanese KI, works well
in my experience with Asian audiences. I've lived in Hong Kong and
Japan and it's easy for me to connect these principles.
Disclaimer must be, I wrote the book. That said, and my biases
acknowledged, it works really well. I invite you to review it.
Cheers,
Jim

Subject: Motivation Text for an MBA course
Hi everyone,
I wanted to tap your collective wisdom for advice on a motivation text
appropriate for an MBA course. The course is on a compressed schedule
and
will be taught in China. Any thoughts that you have will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.
Best regards,
Charles
