Learning to establish effective and productive writing habits is a common struggle for many academics. In this series on tools for prolific writing, we invite you to hear from leading scholars on the methods they have used to become productive writers and scholars.

Join us for the first session in this series where we discuss the use of writing groups to become an effective writer. This session will feature an introduction to writing groups by , followed by a conversation between and as they discuss how this method has contributed to their success.

We will also introduce an open calendar for scheduling writing group sessions to encourage participants to implement this method and build connections within the OB division. Individuals will be able to add their own writing times and join other open sessions.

We invite you to join us Friday, January 26th at 12pm EST for this hour-long session. Scholars at all career points (PhD students, junior faculty, senior faculty, instructors) are encouraged to participate and see the benefits of establishing and participating in writing groups.

This sounds like a timely and valuable session, writing groups can be a game-changer for accountability and momentum. It's refreshing to see scholars openly discussing the behind-the-scenes processes that lead to their productivity. As someone who works with publishing companies for books, I can say that authors who participate in writing groups often come to the publishing stage with more refined drafts, clearer objectives, and stronger voices. Collaboration at the writing level makes a real difference in how well a manuscript lands with publishers.
