    Dear colleagues,

we need your support for a study to assess academic career success in young researchers.

Professors, postdocs, and basically anyone who has completed (= defended) their PhD can participate.

Participation in our experimental vignette will take approximately 7 Minutes. It will be your task to imagine that you are part of a selection committee to hire an Assistant Professor at a university. You will be presented with the CV of a fictitious candidate and will then indicate how competent and successful you perceive this candidate to be.

You can access the study here: https://www.soscisurvey.de/career_success/

The study aims to understand the impact of different factors that may affect perceptions of academic career success. Please note that we cannot disclose any additional information on the study's content at this time to avoid any priming effects. However, we will elaborate in more detail the goals of our study at the very end of our survey.

Please excuse the use of this mailing list to refer to a study. We do so because we exclusively need participants with an academic background.

    Best wishes,

    Miriam Schilbach & Julian Decius
