If you are a mid-tenure junior faculty member who has completed your mid-tenure review or are at approximately the halfway point of your tenure clock, we invite you to join us for the inaugural "Halfway to Tenure, Already?!" - Advice for Mid-Tenure Junior Faculty Members PDW at AOM 2026. This PDW is designed to help mid-tenure junior faculty members evaluate progress toward tenure, navigate expanded responsibilities, and chart a sustainable path forward. We hope you will consider registering for this session and/or spreading the word to your colleagues and mentees. Pre-registration is required (see link below) and attendance is limited to 120 people. - Part 1: Welcome and Introductions
- Part 2: Using the Halfway Point Effectively with Dr. Tiffany D. Johnson James (Georgia Tech) and Dr. Katie Badura (Georgia Tech)
- Part 3: Launching the Tenure Packet with Dr. Eean Crawford (Iowa)
- Part 4: Surviving the Second Half Panel with Dr. Bob Bonner (SFSU), Dr. Phil Thompson (MSU), Dr. Brad Harris (HEC Paris), and Dr. Melissa Chamberlin (Iowa State)
- Part 5: Round Table Networking and Problem-Solving Session
- Part 6: Rebounding from a Difficult First Half with Dr. Shimul Melwani (UNC Chapel Hill)
- Part 7: Concluding Remarks
Roundtable Discussions: During this session, attendees will be assigned to tables to engage in a discussion with other attendees. PDW Facilitators will guide the tables through various topics. At each table, attendees will share knowledge about the earlier segments and provide insights about how they have seen the issues handled well/poorly at their home institution.
How do I register? The PDW will be held on Friday, July 31st from 1:00pm-5:00pm EDT at the Marriott, Salon A - Level 5.
