Writing for high-quality academic journals is already challenging. But for non-native English speakers, the challenge can feel even steeper, so you may have the following questions:

    • How can I improve my writing in a second language to enhance its clarity, precision, and impact, in line with the expectations of academic journals?
    • How should I approach AI tools in this regard? Should I use them to improve my writing, or avoid them until I reach a certain level? If so, until when?

If these questions resonate with you, we warmly invite you to join our PDW, "The Art of Writing and Publishing for Non-Native English Scholars" (Session #12045), taking place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Bella Center, Hall C – C1-m2, Ground Floor.

We bring together six distinguished scholars-each of whom has successfully navigated the challenges of academic publishing in English as a second language:

    • Dr. Chak Fu Lam, City University of Hong Kong (Associate Editor, Academy of Management Review)
    • Dr. Jing Zhu, Nanyang Technological University (Associate Editor, Academy of Management Journal)
    • Dr. Smriti Anand, Illinois Institute of Technology (Editor-in-Chief, Human Relations)
    • Dr. Frank Walter, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Former Associate Editor, Journal of Organizational Behavior)
    • Dr. Harshad Puranik, University of Illinois Chicago (Editorial Review Board member, Journal of Management and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes)
    • Dr. Hamid H. Kazeroony, Minnesota State University; Walden University; North-West University, South Africa (Author and editor of multiple books, including Management Education and Automation)

The session includes a short introduction to the session, a panel discussion, and roundtable conversations where you can ask questions directly and learn from others' journeys.

If you are a non-native English speaker working to sharpen your academic writing, this session is for you.

Come for insights. We hope to see you there!
