Are you a non-native English speaker striving to become a strong academic writer?

While the affiliations of authors have become more globally diverse, English remains the key language for communicating scholarly ideas in academia. In particular, publishing in top-tier journals requires exceptional English writing skills. For non-native English speakers, this poses a significant challenge-yet one that must be overcome.

The question is, how do we do this? And what role does AI play in this journey? Is it a helpful friend-or a foe that hinders the development of our writing skills?

To address these questions, we invite you to our PDW, "The Art of Writing and Publishing for Non-Native English Scholars" (Session #12045), held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Bella Center, Hall C – C1-m2, Ground Floor.

This session brings together six accomplished scholars-all non-native English speakers-who have been successful in publications. The panelists include:

    • Dr. Chak Fu Lam, City University of Hong Kong (Associate Editor, Academy of Management Review)
    • Dr. Jing Zhu, Nanyang Technological University (Associate Editor, Academy of Management Journal)
    • Dr. Smriti Anand, Illinois Institute of Technology (Editor-in-Chief, Human Relations)
    • Dr. Frank Walter, Justus-Liebig University Giessen (Former Associate Editor, Journal of Organizational Behavior)
    • Dr. Harshad Puranik, University of Illinois Chicago (Editorial Review Board, Journal of Management and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes)
    • Dr. Hamid H. Kazeroony, Minnesota State University; Walden University; North-West University, South Africa (Author and editor of multiple books, including Management Education and Automation)

The session will begin with a 10-minute introductory presentation, followed by a 60-minute panel discussion and 40-minute roundtable conversations. Our organizing team includes Dr. Ui Young Sun (Monash University), Dr. Jia Lin Xie (University of Toronto), Dr. Jeewon Cho (Oregon State University), and Dr. Radha Sharma (New Delhi Institute of Management).

We invite you to be part of this practical and meaningful session. We look forward to seeing you there!
