About This Year's Theme
We are in constant conversations about how knowledge is created, interpreted, and shared. Today, those conversations are being reshaped by generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). Tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, and Gemini can respond to complex prompts, synthesize information from vast datasets, and produce text in a human voice. These capabilities raise important questions for educators: Is generative AI creating knowledge, or organizing and re-presenting existing data? Who-or what-is the author of AI-generated content?
Change has always been a defining feature of education, and the pace of change continues to accelerate. Emerging "next-generation" learning environments can combine AI-driven personalization with immersive technologies such as augmented and virtual reality. AI may function as a learning collaborator, adapting to individual students in real time. Collaborative AI platforms may also connect learners globally, reducing barriers of time, place, and language. Together, these developments offer new possibilities for experiential learning and for reimagining experiential conferences themselves.
At the same time, AI-powered learning systems are rapidly reshaping student expectations. As with any major innovation, these developments present both opportunities and challenges-particularly for educators committed to experiential, hands-on learning.
The focus of MOBTC 2026 is to explore practical and innovative ways to engage students in this evolving landscape. We invite participants to share both successes and challenges, recognizing that meaningful learning often emerges from experimentation and reflection. Our goal is to foster thoughtful dialogue and to exchange ideas that participants can apply immediately in their teaching.
Our Guiding Question
How do we thoughtfully integrate artificial intelligence into experiential teaching and learning?
MOBTC welcomes session proposals that address this question and related challenges facing management educators. While the theme provides direction, we are open to strong proposals from diverse perspectives. As always, MOBTC emphasizes learning by doing. We need sessions that involve hands-on demonstrations rather than descriptive presentations.
If you would like feedback or guidance while developing a proposal, please feel free to contact a member of the Program Committee.
Proposal Guidelines
Proposals should be 2–3 pages and clearly address the following:
- What will you do during the session?
- What will participants do?
-
How much time will the session require?
-
The hallmark of MOBTC is active engagement. Please design proposals as demonstrations suitable for classroom use, not simply reports on prior work. Please plan for meaningful participant involvement throughout your session.
Submission details and formatting guidelines are available on our website:
mobtc.org. Submit proposals as an email attachment to

Conference Details
The conference registration fee is $70, which includes breakfast, lunch, and a Friday evening welcome reception (April 17) with refreshments. Free parking will be provided. We believe MOBTC offers exceptional value, but time is fleeting to get your proposal considered for the program.
If you previously sent a proposal to Steve, please resend it, as those materials unfortunately were lost following his passing.
