  • 1.  Job opening - AIB Lecturer (Assistant Professor with tenure) in Responsible Leadership

    Posted 09-02-2022 10:01

    Overview

Made possible by the generous support of Allied Irish Banks PLC, UCC (Ireland) will appoint the AIB Lecturer of Responsible Leadership. We view the concept of responsible leadership as making more sustainable business decisions that better balance conflicting stakeholder interests to be a broader force for good. Responsible leadership involves ethical and moral courage and taking longer-term perspectives that weighs and balances the legitimate interests of stakeholders inside and outside of the organisation. As such, it can be seen as a concept that at its most basic level seeks to integrate leadership ethics and corporate social responsibility so that organisations, individuals, and society are front and centre in decision-making.

Candidates will have completed or be near completion of a PhD in leadership, ethics, business and society, corporate social responsibility and/or other closely related fields. The successful candidate will have successfully published in journals of substantial international standing and/or demonstrate clear potential to do so (publications in the 3 and 4 star ranked journals by the Chartered Association of Business Schools will be preferred). Candidates will have a proven teaching ability and will be encouraged and expected to deliver high quality teaching across the range of undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education programmes in the Business School in order to inculcate the principles of responsible leadership in our graduates.
