Luiss University invites outstanding scholars to express their interest in a full-time position as Full Professor of Strategic Innovation, holding the associated Angelini Industries Chair.
Requirements
Luiss University is opening expressions of interest for a prestigious Chaired Professorship in Strategic Innovation, aimed at attracting a globally recognised scholar working in the field where strategy, technological change and global talent development all intersect.
The ideal candidate is an internationally renowned leader in strategic management and innovation, with a strong interdisciplinary approach and a proven ability to engage with policy-making communities. The position seeks a scholar with an outstanding track record of publications in top international journals, demonstrated research impact, and active participation in large-scale academic initiatives. The ideal profile also combines a strong commitment to educational innovation and a particular interest in industries such as pharmaceuticals, robotics, and logistics.
Preferred research streams include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Human Capital: the evolution of competencies and skills to meet rapidly changing industry needs and to bridge the gap between education and the labour market.
- Learning Sciences: the design and development of innovative educational models and strategic foresight in AI-driven environments, with particular attention to capacity building.
- Health Management and Economics: the role and impact of artificial intelligence on innovation processes in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and robotics.
The Chair is expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of research, the development of strategic education programmes, and the fostering of international collaborations. Candidates with experience in attracting competitive research funding and leading educational transformation will be particularly valued.
Candidates will be able to teach and publish in English.
Role and Responsibilities
Luiss full professors are expected to undertake rigorous and innovative research in their field(s) of interest, publish in high quality international journals, and provide academic assistance or leadership in research activities. They are also expected to contribute to the academic and intellectual life of the University and of the Luiss community at large, and to the development of the University's degree programmes.
Teaching load is usually 120 hours per year, either in undergraduate or graduate programmes, except in special circumstances to be agreed at the time of appointment. Teaching assistantships are available. The position holder will also be required to supervise master's degree dissertations and bachelor's degree papers. Appointments are full-time and the salary is competitive.

About the Department
The primary research areas of the faculty at the Department of Business and Management include accounting and performance measurement systems; business strategy; corporate strategy; international business; corporate governance; digital innovation and transformation; ethics, responsibility, and sustainability; finance and banking; innovation and industry evolution; law and economics; marketing and consumer behaviour; organisation theory and HRM; computer and data science; operations management; supply chain management and circular economy. The Department also offers PhD programmes.
