Dear colleagues – please find enclosed a Call for Chapters for a book entitled Spiritual and Religious Expressions of Organising with Nature.  The book seeks to challenge extractive approaches to organising and offers alternative ontological expressions based upon faith-based and regenerative approaches.

We invite contributions that help reconcile the nature-economy dualism through relational ontologies, recognising the Earth as a living system in which humans and the economy are only one part. As Banerjee and Arjaliès (2022 p. 16) note, a relational perspective is "fundamentally animated and spiritual, immersed in a life force that transcends time, human and non-humans."  We call for perspectives that go beyond Western worldviews and offer concrete examples of how organisations can engage with nature as a co-creative partner.  These may Include:

    • The biophilia effect and its application in workplace and organizational design
    • City planning, architecture and business practices that embrace the more-than-human world,
    • Human-animal collaborations their role in responsible supply chains and service economies,
    • Indigenous ontologies and their influence on business ethics, governance and leadership,
    • Religious or spiritual traditions as guiding frameworks for sustainable business and responsible stewardship,
    • Ecological restoration and regenerative business practices and models,
    • Biomimicry-driven innovation and its impact on corporate strategy and entrepreneurship,
    • Legal and policy frameworks (e.g., recognizing the rights of nature) and their influence on organizational practices and sustainability reporting,
    • Slow, circular, and degrowth movements challenging extractive logics, and
    • Commons-based governance and cooperative business structures for sustainable resource management.

Please contact Kathryn Pavlovich and myself if you have any questions. We look forward to your participation. Thank you.
