    The Department of Management at James Madison University anticipates hiring for two tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management positions this year; one with a focus on Organizational Behavior and the other with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Strategy.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate courses in (1) Organizational Behavior as well as a secondary area that supports one of our Management concentrations (HRM, Consulting, and Entrepreneurship); and (2) Entrepreneurship and/or Strategy. The successful candidates will be expected to conduct high-quality research, as well as engage in academic and community service for the department, college, university, and the profession. The department fosters a collegial and collaborative team environment that supports student success and faculty development.

    Qualifications 

    A Ph.D. in Business Administration or a closely related field is required (a doctorate degree from a business program must be from an AACSB-accredited business school). The successful candidates must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and outstanding research potential for publishing in premier management journals. Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD with a primary emphasis related to the course content for the teaching responsibilities.

    Optional informational interviews will be conducted at the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. Participation in these interviews is not mandatory.     About the Department: The Department of Management is an academic unit within the College of Business, comprising 23 full-time faculty members. The department has over 800 management majors in three concentrations (Management Consulting, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management), and the department supports the college by providing core business classes in Strategic Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Principles of Management. Departmental faculty members closely collaborate with the Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship.
