** Apologies for cross-posting **
Greetings! We welcome your participation in our AOM PDW on Work, Occupations, and Professions, scheduled on Friday August 04, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM EDT at the Grand Ballroom A - Mezzanine Level, 2nd Floor, Boston Park Plaza (no pre-registration required for the PDW).
This is the fifth iteration of this PDW. For this year, we are focusing on honoring and expanding on Professor Steve Barley's legacy in the study of work, occupations, and professions.
The goals of this PDW are two-fold: (1) provide contemporary perspectives on work, occupations, and professions in organizations through examination of Steve Barley's work; (2) build a community of scholars who are engaged in theoretical and empirical research on work, occupations, and professions.
Through presentations from several of Steve's senior students (Beth Bechky, Paul Leonardi, Stine Grodal, Siobhan O'Mahony, Andrew Nelson, and Asaf Darr), interactive panel discussions, roundtable breakouts, and keynote address from Steve, we seek to advance scholarship in this area of work, occupations, and professions, while simultaneously building community.
The event is set to feature facilitation, discussions, and commentary with the following scholars:
Steve Barley (UC Santa Barbara)
Diane Bailey (Cornell University)
Beth Bechky (UC Davis)
Danielle Bovenberg (Yale School of Management)
Asaf Darr (University of Haifa)
Stine Grodal (Northeastern University)
Ece Kaynak (Bayes Business School)
Paul Leonardi (UC Santa Barbara)
Tsedal Neeley (Harvard Business School)
Andrew Nelson (University of Oregon)
Siobhan O'Mahony (Boston University)
Hatim Rahman (Northwestern University)
