Dear colleagues,
If your research touches on human–AI interaction - or you're thinking about getting started - we'd love to see you at our PDW at AOM 2026 in Philadelphia:
Advancing Human–AI Interaction Studies: Emerging Methods and Tools for Management Research (#12333)
Research on human–AI interaction in management is booming, but running rigorous empirical studies in this space remains hard and is the exception. Scholars face conceptual ambiguities (defining and operationalizing "AI"), technological barriers (deploying real AI systems, ensuring reproducibility), and design trade-offs (realism vs. experimental control). Too often, this pushes scientists toward simplified or hypothetical designs that limit validity, comparability, and cumulative knowledge building.
This hands-on PDW brings together experts who will show you state-of-the-art methods, research infrastructures, and best-practice guidelines to tackle these challenges. We aim to:
• Synthesize emerging evidence on recurring methodological pitfalls and best practices
• Introduce new tools, methods, research infrastructures, and designs for more realistic, scalable, and replicable empirical work
• Give participants space to discuss their own projects and receive feedback from scholars actively developing and using these approaches
So please bring your projects and questions!
