Friends – The Academy of Management Annals and Academy of Management Review are pleased to announce we are hosting a joint idea-development workshop on December 16, 2025 in Malibu, California! The event will be held on the campus of Pepperdine University beginning at 8 am local time and will conclude at 6 pm.
We are currently accepting submissions and really look forward to seeing you there and want to encourage submissions of ideas for us to discuss! The full call for submissions is linked below, and the deadline for submissions is October 10, 2025. Submissions should take the form of an up to 350-word abstract.

The workshop has two parts. Participants can apply to participate in the first part (morning session) only or to participate in the first and second parts (morning and afternoon sessions).
In the first part, we will provide information about publishing in Annals and AMR. The Annals and AMR editorial teams will discuss what makes a successful paper and why they may be rejected, and how to address the core challenges often seen in rejected papers at these respective journals.
In the second part, we will offer roundtable discussions of participants' ideas for papers to be submitted to either Annals or AMR (i.e., you choose which journal you aim to submit your idea to). We will match participants with a facilitator such as an Associate Editor or Editorial Board member from the corresponding journal, who will discuss and provide feedback on your idea. Capacity in this part of the workshop is limited so please do submit an abstract before the October 10 deadline!
