    The Psychology Department at Montclair State University invites applications for a full-time, open-rank position (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology to begin September 2023. Candidates will be expected to publish in top-quality journals, seek external funding, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, teach courses in I/O topic areas, and broadly excel in supporting our institution's commitment to equity and diversity. Further, the candidate is expected to aid in the ongoing management and development of our new interdisciplinary I/O Psychology PhD program with concentrations in psychology, computer science, and business. We strongly encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply. 

    The ideal candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring, evidence of research productivity commensurate with experience, and the potential to attract extramural funding. Area of I/O specialization is open and should complement but expand the department's current specializations. Applicants seeking appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level should have a well-established history of research productivity commensurate with rank. Preference is given for evidence of external funding and a strong record of teaching and mentoring graduate students. Candidates with experience in graduate program leadership are also encouraged to apply.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  A Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, A.B.D. candidates nearing completion of their Ph.D. will also be considered.  

    THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY AND THE COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

    The Psychology Department serves a large and diverse population of graduate and undergraduate students and consists of a vibrant group of 30 faculty organized into three broad categories: Clinical, Industrial/Organizational (I/O), and Psychological Science. The Department is in a period of rapid expansion with 20 active research labs; over 3.5 million dollars in extramural funding; and relatively new PhD Programs in both Clinical and I/O Psychology and MA Programs in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, I/O Psychology, and Psychological Science. Research interests include neuroscience and neurological degenerative diseases, trauma, social attitudes and discrimination, leadership and organizational behavior, forensic investigation and plea bargaining, internalizing psychological disorders, language, life span development, social justice, cognition, perceptual processing, and spatial cognition. 

    The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) is the University's largest academic unit with over 5,000 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students. CHSS awards BA, MA, and PhD degrees through its 16 departments and 9 programs with over 30 majors and 50 minors. Offering traditional and interdisciplinary learning, the College is home to outstanding researchers across all disciplines while its faculty are also superb classroom instructors.
