    OB Junior Faculty Workshop

    Saturday, August 5, 2023

8:30 AM to 11:30 AM EST

Location:  Sheraton Boston Hotel, specifically in Back Bay Ballroom B on the Second Floor

    Purpose:

The objective of the workshop is to create a platform where junior faculty members can seek career advice from experienced OB scholars, i.e., "Faculty Fellows." The focus is on helping junior faculty navigate various challenges in their careers while also addressing other relevant topics.

    How do I register?

Registration is limited to 70 participants, and the registration deadline is Wednesday June 29th. Here is the registration form: https://kenan-flagler.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_aWyQYIwqQXs2hfg

    Format:

The workshop will feature ten distinguished Faculty Fellows who are renowned researchers, editors, and/or members of editorial boards at prominent OB journals. These Fellows will engage in two panel discussions focusing on topics pertinent to pre-tenure junior faculty. Following the panel discussions, two rounds of breakout roundtables will provide an opportunity for you to interact on a more personal level with the Faculty Fellows and discuss specific topics of interest.

    Pre-conference warm-up:

All PDW registrants are invited to participate in a virtual meet-up preceding the conference on Thursday, July 6th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM Pacific Standard Time). This interactive session presents an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration among attendees. Moreover, the organizers are keen to gather your valuable input on essential topics and questions to be discussed during the JFW in August. Your presence at this warm-up event is highly encouraged and appreciated. Zoom information will be sent to registered participants one week prior to the warm-up.

    Who is eligible to attend?

The workshop is open to faculty members who identify themselves as junior, meaning they are in the early stages of their academic careers and have not yet obtained tenure, typically within the first 4-5 years of their academic position. Additionally, attendees must be members of the Organizational Behavior Division and must be registered for the AOM conference.

    May I attend again?

Yes! If you attended the workshop last year, you may attend again this year.
