    While existing research acknowledges the influence of human resources in shaping entrepreneurial and resilient organizations, it frequently overlooks the crucial contributions of women, black men, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other marginalized groups within their organizations. It's of paramount importance to recognize and actively engage in discussions that highlight how embracing diversity isn't merely a matter of social justice but a critical factor in fostering entrepreneurship and resilience. We eagerly anticipate your participation in exploring these topics at the "Fostering Entrepreneurial and Resilient Organizations through Diversity and Inclusion" PDW.

    The PDW will consist of two parts and will last for 120 minutes:

    1.     The first section is open to all. Giorgia M. D'Allura will start with a welcome and introduction which will be followed by scholarly conversations where the distinguished speakers will raise awareness of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) practices essential for challenging non-egalitarian cultures and fostering entrepreneurial resilience. Lara Bertola will then lead a panel discussion on the presented topics. This section will conclude with a Q&A and comments session facilitated by Michela Floris.

    2.     Part 2 requires registration and submission of the most recent version of a research paper or an extended abstract (about 1000 words) of the paper they wish to discuss in the workshop, and it will consist of parallel roundtables.

    Giorgia M. D'Allura will lead the "Future-oriented Actions" roundtable, which will engage participants in a theater activity to foster inclusion. Cristina Leone and Giuseppe Argiolas will manage the "Challenges in Implementing D&I" roundtable, discussing real-life cases and challenges in disseminating D&I practices. Additionally, there will be two "Papers Development" roundtables, with David Audretsch and Lucia Naldi leading one, and Wojciech Czakon and Alexandra Dawson leading the other, focusing on providing feedback and refining participants' papers. The workshop will conclude with a plenary discussion led by Pasquale Massimo Picone, addressing the key issues raised in the roundtable sessions.

    If you are interested in the second half of the PDW (i.e., research parallel roundtables), please submit the most recent version of your research paper or an extended abstract (about 1000 words) of the paper you wish to discuss in the workshop. The deadline for registration is July 20, 2024. Paper should be sent to micfloris@unica.it.

    Since the number of available spaces will be limited, submissions will be evaluated based on their quality and relevance to the workshop theme.

    Note that registration for AOM Annual Meeting is a mandatory requirement to attend any part of this PDW.

    Please get in touch with the PDW organizers (micfloris@unica.it; giorgia.dallura@unict.it;

    pasqualemassimo.picone@unipa.it) if you have any questions.

    The PDW is part of the "GRIS - Growing Resilient Italian SMEs" project, funded by PRIN (Research Projects of National Interest), aimed at strengthening resilience in Italian SMEs. The PDW will serve as a platform for fostering discussions, networking, and advancing research insights related to how firms that promote D&I practices develop resilient strategies to ensure continuity and improve their performance (https://www.unipa.it/dipartimenti/seas/Workshop---Fostering-Entrepreneurial-and-Resilient-Organizations-through-Diversity-and-Inclusion/).
