International Association of Applied Psychology invites individuals to apply for the position of Editor(s)-in-Chief for Applied Psychology: An International Review

The International Association of Applied Psychology is looking for a new Editor-in-Chief, or Editors-in-Chief, as the term of the current Editors-in-Chief comes to a close. The new post(s) will commence from 1 August 2023 for 4 years. The successful candidate(s) will work closely with the Editorial Team and Board, as well as key contacts at the Association and the publisher.

Applied Psychology: An International Review (AP:IR) is a leading international outlet for scholarly dissemination of findings in applied psychology, with a specific focus upon psychological phenomena in the domain of work, organizational, and other applied settings. Articles are written in a style appropriate for a multidisciplinary and international audience. AP:IR is one of two officials journals of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP), the oldest worldwide association of scholars and practitioners of the discipline of psychology, founded in 1920.

AP:IR has a 2-year Impact Factor of 5.414 and a 5-year IF of 5.682 (2021 Journal Citation Reports® Clarivate). The journal is ranked 3 on the UK Chartered Association of Business Schools Academic Journal Guide 2021 (ABS List), A on the Australian Business Dean's Council Journal Quality List 2019 (ABDC list) and B on the German VHB-JOURQUAL 3.

The Editorial Board, in all its activities, seeks to prevent discrimination on the grounds of age, gender, racial origin, culture, religious belief, language, disability, economic status or political views. The Journal has a policy of encouraging inclusivity and for this reason authors are asked to consider the applicability of their work to all groups.

AP:IR publishes four issues per year, and each issue includes a mix of peer-reviewed original research, review articles, research notes, replication notes, invited lead articles and commentaries, and method articles. This is an exciting time to join the journal which publishes an increasing number of Open Access articles and has grown a strong worldwide presence and global readership.

To ensure the robust health of the journal going into the future, AP:IR is particularly interested in maintaining its strong special issue program, measures to expand the internationality of the Editorial Board and authorship, and new ways to increase the annual number of exceptional quality published articles.

In addition to the current Editors-in-Chief, the editorial team consists of a number of Associate Editors, an Advisory Board and a board of Editorial Consultants. See the full Editorial Board here.

The successful candidate(s) for the position will be recognized as an expert in the field of applied psychology and have a good track record of publications and conference presentations. They will also have an extensive network of contacts, so that the profile of the Journal can continue to be developed. The journal is supported by the Editorial Office and Publisher. The Editor-in-Chief role carries an honorarium.
