    Respectful greetings!

With wishes for wellness and safety in these surreal times, we are inviting you to consider contributing a chapter to our newly proposed compilation:

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as a Leadership Strategy
Editors: Joan Marques and Satinder Dhiman

The year 2020 has been an interesting one so far – for each of us, and most definitely for the world of business. Since we all, to some extent, are part of that world - as employers, employees, suppliers, or customers – we have all experienced the effects of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the mounting social unrest, that has its foundations in long-standing inequities and mistreatments of large parts in our society. It is therefore completely understandable that, upon reflecting on the spirit of these times, our collective emotions fluctuate from frustration to anger, amazement to resignation, and confusion to grief.

The here proposed collective professional work will focus on a wide range of topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including but not limited to, ethical considerations, inter-personal behavior, collaboration, conflict resolution, respect for diverse backgrounds, and mindful leadership. While we could consider these topics all innately human, the recent confrontations with unnecessary and wrongful killings represented a shocking realization that even basic concepts of mutual respect and acceptance need to be reinforced regularly and compellingly.

We approach colleagues who study, teach, or write in disciplines such as business, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, history, education, and related disciplines, to submit chapter proposals that offer enriching perspectives related to and expanding on the above.

If interested, we welcome your chapter title and brief proposal (150 words or less), to be submitted to joan.marques@woodbury.edu by July 25, 2020 or before. Completed chapters comprising minimum 5,000 to 6,000 words will be due by January 31, 2021.

We encourage co-authored chapters, and also invite doctoral students/candidates to submit, preferably co-authored with their research faculty.

Please include the complete professional affiliation of all the contributing authors of the proposed chapter.

In early August 2020, this collective work will be proposed to Springer International, globally renowned publisher of academic books in the world. We have published several titles with Springer, Routledge, and Palgrave over the past several years, and look forward to working together with you on this rewarding and intellectually enriching work.

    Warm Regards,

Joan Marques, also on behalf of Satinder Dhiman
