    POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT-VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY

    The Villanova Initiative to Support Inclusiveness and Build Leaders (VISIBLE) at Villanova University seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to engage in research supported by an Institutional Transformation grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE program. The position begins in summer 2020.

     

    As a member of the social science research team, the Postdoctoral Scholar will conduct data analysis and evaluation for the NSF ADVANCE funded project: "The Impact of Leader Mindfulness Training on Workplace Discriminatory Climate"; submit findings for publication and make presentations of findings at regional and national professional meetings through posters and presentations, as funding permits; and lead additional data collection and analysis projects for VISIBLE as time permits.  The Postdoctoral Scholar will report to Dr. Narda Quigley, Professor of Management and ADVANCE Co-Principal Investigator. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work closely with the ADVANCE team and VISIBLE staff from a location within the Villanova School of Business. Compensation includes commensurate salary and benefits package for up to four semesters, contingent on continued funding.

     

    FORMAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: A PhD in a social science field, such as Psychology, Social Psychology, Sociology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, or related field; for an exceptional candidate, ABD may be acceptable. Also, statistical training in quantitative methods and a record of research using survey data are a requirement.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: Training in longitudinal data analysis; familiarity with data collection from primary sources and with multilevel issues in organizations; quantitative dissertation focus.

    ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS: The Department is an intellectually curious and collegial group within the Villanova School of Business that currently includes 18 tenured or tenure-track faculty members and 7 non-tenure track faculty members who publish in top management and organizational behavior journals, such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Organization Science, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Department members are active in leadership roles within journals and within the Academy of Management. The Department works as a team to further individual research interests and teaching objectives.
