    DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY

    Position Opening in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (Tenure Track, F0646A1)

     

    The Department of Psychology at Old Dominion University invites applications for a tenure track faculty Assistant Professor position in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, to begin July 2022. Applicants must have a doctorate in psychology or provide evidence that the Ph.D. will be completed prior to August 2022 and evidence of expertise in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Successful applicants must demonstrate quality teaching and research excellence, as evidenced by publications and potential for external funding. All applicants with a program of research that complements or extends the breadth of interests of the current Industrial/Organizational Psychology faculty will be considered. Responsibilities include a) teaching undergraduate courses to support the core undergraduate curriculum, including relevant online courses, b) teaching graduate courses, c) conducting high quality, programmatic research,

    d) seeking external research funding, and e) mentoring M.S. and Ph.D. students.

     

    ODU's Psychology Department is in the College of Sciences and includes 30 full-time faculty members, approximately 1400 undergraduate majors, and 75 students in our graduate programs. At the graduate level, the department offers a terminal master's degree in Experimental Psychology and the Ph.D. The doctoral degree has concentrations in Health Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Factors (HFES accredited). Additionally, the Department participates in the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology (APA accredited). Faculty research is currently funded by NSF, NIH, ARI, NASA and various other entities. Areas of research collaboration among faculty in the Psychology Department include health, diversity, and technology.

     

    Old Dominion University is a large, state-supported university located in the Hampton Roads area on the Chesapeake Bay in southeastern Virginia. The area is a regional center for military, medical, and scholarly research.
