Dear Colleagues,
COB Organizational Wisdom Studio continues featuring experimental film-projects that explore the question: How would an emotionally intelligent leader look like in the midst of pandemic? Work fatigue has been a major challenge for socially isolated employees in this pandemic.
This week's episode features the film titled "Med Zeppelin" (2020), produced by Emotional Twisters, which explores Authentic Leadership Theory as it relates to managing work demands and fatigue. The film illustrates how ineffective communication can result in unreasonable work demands and thus fatigued employees in COVID-19 period. Then it shows how emotional intelligent authenticity can help to effectively address these managerial problems. The film is produced by the Sacramento State students in Human Resource Management.
In a subsequent commentary session Professor Sigal Barsade from the Wharton School provides theoretical and practical insights about the importance of emotional intelligence and authenticity in effectively managing work demands in a pandemic. Please share these Wisdom Studio episodes with colleagues, students, and others at a time when we all need more emotional intelligence in our organizations. Enjoy the show!
