    Summary/Abstract

The grand challenges of our time bring about seemingly irreconcilable demands. Paradox theory provides scholars unique access to understanding such tensions in our unbalanced world. Paradoxes defy resolution by choosing one side over another and researchers seek to engage opposing sides and to identify tensions' generative potential. In this subtheme, we continue to welcome submissions that address paradox, dualities, and dialectics that explore contradicting, yet interdependent elements. However, we also look for new ways to extend our understanding of how paradoxical tensions impact our thinking and reflections on organizational life and on the unbalanced world in which we live in.

Key words: Paradox, Tensions, Balance, Imbalance, Grand Challenges.
