Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Seattle, August 5-9, 2022
Call for Presenters
PDW: Harnessing the Power of Social Media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat) to Improve Student Engagement, Retention, and Sharing in Management Courses.
Would you like your students to be more engaged in class? Would you like your students to learn more material? Then, harness the power of social media in your management courses.
Social media and technology are integral parts of daily life, and integrating the use of these into the classroom is more natural than ever before. The benefits of using social media include: students retaining more material, learning topics more quickly, seeing real-world applications, appealing to visual learners, and students being more enthusiastic about management concepts.
Topics examined in this PDW include:
1: Use social media to complement your traditional communication
2: Find your platform of choice
3: Stay on brand
4: Recognize the external environment and show that we're all #InItTogether
5: Target the "whole" student
6: Use your social media to engage students
7: Cross-promote your institution
8: Build a discipline co-educational space
9: Share your discipline-specific content and analysis on the external event
10: Share student successes
We are looking for additional presenters for this PDW. Email us if you have a great example of using social media in management courses and you want to share it with members of the Academy.
Thank you,
Jeff
