Dear Colleagues,
Project disruptions in teams have affected many organizations during pandemic period. With a focus on this topic, COB Organizational Wisdom Studio continues featuring experimental film-projects that explore the question: How would an emotionally intelligent leader look like in the midst of this chaotic era?
This week's episode features the film titled "A Moving Target" (2020), produced by Fuego Fusion, which explores Transformational Leadership Theory as it relates to emotional intelligence. Based on a story illustrating a team facing a major crisis during COVID-19 period, the film explores how such disruptions can evoke anger, especially among high-performing employees.
Then the film shows how transformational leadership qualities and emotional intelligence skills can help channeling this anger towards creativity. The film is produced by Human Resource Management students in a class on Leading with Emotional Intelligence at the Sacramento State University.
In a subsequent commentary session Professor Sigal Barsade from the Wharton School interviews with co-hosts Ms. Elisabeth Nunziato and Professor Hakan Ozcelik to provide theoretical and practical insights about how emotionally intelligent leadership can make a difference in effectively managing anger in teams when they face disruptions in a pandemic.
Please share these Wisdom Studio episodes with colleagues, students, and others at a time when we all need more emotional intelligence in our organizations. Enjoy the show!
