Are you interested in starting or continuing your academic career at a European university? Constituting the first workshop of a series of workshops from the Global Committee of the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management, this workshop is set out to assist scholars in understanding and navigating the Academic European job market. Topics will include:

    • How and where do I search for job openings in my country of interest?
    • What does the application and hiring process look like and how do I manage it?
    • How are candidates (international vs. domestic) evaluated?
    • What are key challenges in adapting to the particular culture and university system?
    • What is the expected professional conduct (i.e., do's and don'ts) in presenting oneself and one's work?

    Format:
The virtual workshop will consist of a one-hour panel discussion followed by a 30-60 minute breakout-session. Pre-registration is required for both the workshop and the breakout-sessions. Each breakout session will focus on finding a job in a specific country based on the expertise of the respective panelist (i.e., France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, and UK). There is only limited capacity in the breakout sessions and spots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. During the registration process, you will be asked to indicate your preferences for the country-specific breakout sessions.
