    Dear Colleagues, Greetings!

I trust you are doing fine and staying safe and healthy during these trying times. You are cordially invited to contribute a chapter to the following proposed new book:

Leading in a New VUCA World:
Working Together Toward a Sustainable Future

Edited by Satinder Dhiman and Joan Marques

The Covid-19 pandemic has permanently changed lives around the world and no nation seems to have been spared from its wrath. Quarantines and lockdowns have become ubiquitous. Masks, social distancing, and zooming have become the new norms, turning much of the world into 'a collection of reluctant shut-ins.' And yet, this pandemic has pressed us into thinking about novel approaches to lead organizations and societies toward a shared, sustainable future. Jamie Dimon, JP Morgan CEO, has rightly called the pandemic 'a wake-up call … for business and government to think, act and invest for the common good.'

This proposed book will highlight sustainable leadership and change management strategies to effectively deal with unpredictable and rapid changing situations-particularly with regard to a world that is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA). It will serve as a practical guide in identifying and responding to leadership challenges and opportunities in each of the four VUCA categories of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity-and how they affect businesses, organizations, and societies as a whole.

We invite chapter proposals by specialists from different disciplines such as business, psychology, education, and health care-proposals that offer perspectives that are integrative, and interdisciplinary in nature, informed by myriad fields of study such as leadership theory, change management, sustainability, and spirituality-within the new VUCA context.

If these themes resonate with your research, teaching, and practice, please send a chapter title and brief proposal (150 words or less) to  satinder.dhiman@woodbury.edu by July 25, 2020 or before. Completed chapters comprising minimum 5,000 to 6,000 words will be due by January 31, 2021.

We encourage co-authored chapters, also inviting doctoral students to submit proposals, preferably co-authored with their research faculty.  Kindly include the complete professional affiliation of all the contributing authors of the proposed chapter.

During August 2020, this book will be proposed to Springer International, the preeminent publisher of academic books in the world. We have published several titles (including Major Reference Works-Handbooks) with Springer and Palgrave over the past several years.

    Thank you.

    Warm Regards,

Satinder Dhiman, also on behalf of Joan Marques
